Child-Guided Strategies for Assessing Children Who are Deafblind or Have Multiple Disabilities, model 1-31001-00, is an instructor training program designed for use by teachers of children who are deaf-blind or have multiple disabilities. This interactive CD-ROM demonstrates strategies and techniques for assessing and teaching children with multiple disabilities through the use of video clips, questions pertaining to the video clips, discussion, and relevant literature. Comprehensive assessments of two children are presented, and the viewer can design an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for the two children through an interactive question and answer format. Also included in the CD-ROM is an index of many terms pertaining to deafblindness and multiple disabilities. Each term is defined, explained in depth, and illustrated by video clips. The CD-ROM includes 12 full text articles by Dr. Jan van Dijk and colleagues. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers or Apple Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: IBM-compatible computers require Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 95 or later operating system; Pentium processor; 16 megabytes (MB) RAM; CD-ROM drive; minimum 640 x 480 pixel 256- color display (higher resolution recommended); Sound Blaster compatible sound card; and a standard keyboard and mouse. Macintosh computers require Mac OS 7 to 9 operating system; Power PC processor; 16 MB RAM; 800 x 600 pixel screen; 16-bit color; and a CD-ROM drive.
